Dan Oakey grew up on air force bases dotted around the world. Always used to change and yet never quite fitting in. He's had a wide range of jobs as an adult, studied screenwriting at Birkbeck, and for a while was enamoured with London's open-mic poetry scene. Most of his protagonists are people who strive - but struggle - to make sense of their fast-changing worlds.
