Richard Butchins is an award-winning journalist, documentary filmmaker, writer and artist. Over more than twenty years, he has made films for the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, exploring disability, identity, social politics and lives lived outside conventional narratives. His previous books include the novel Pavement and a co-authored biography of Bob Hoskins. His non-fiction book Misfits: Reframing Disability will be published by Pluto Press in 2027.
